Rafting Interests
There are different river trip opportunities through the Grand Canyon National Park.
1 Day Commercial Trips: Consists of half day and full day smooth water trips on the Colorado River
2-5 Day Non-Commercial Trips: Launch from Diamond Creek and take out at Lake Mead typically takes 2-5 days. You will need a permit, start to look into getting a permit around 1 year before you go, they are distributed by the first come first serve rule *Lees Ferry to Diamond Creek: (Commercial & Non-Commercial) Motorized and non-motorized rafting trips which launch from Lees Ferry and take out at Diamond Creek. Vary greatly in length, motorized takes around 7 days.
3-18 Day Commercial Trips: Professionally guided raft trips available to the public and often reserved a year or two in advanced, you can use large motorized rafts, oared rafts, paddle raft, and dories. Once you chose a tour date, it is not aloud to change.
12-25 Day Non-Commercial Trips: These are self guided rafting trips. Most times referred to private river trips. Permits for these river trips are made available to the public through a weighted lottery. At least one person that is with needs to have experiance. You are NOT allowed to hire guides.
